Tips For Applying Mineral Eyeshadow
Even though mineral eyeshadow is becoming more popular, a lot of women still aren't sure how to use it to achieve the look they desire. However, it's actually quite simple to use. The application of any mineral makeup will vary depending on what look you're going for. Following are tips to help you achieve a subtle daytime or stand-out evening look.
Firstly, when you're applying makeup of the mineral variety, whether it's foundation or the eye shadow, it needs a matte surface to stick at. As a general rule, no matter what eyeshadow shades you choose, if you're going for a daytime, at the office-type look, you should apply a primer and use the eyeshadow in its powdered form. Or if you'd like a more striking look for the evening, use the makeup wet.
So for the office-type look:
1. As mentioned above, apply the primer to your eyelid as your first task.
2. Dispense some of the mineral eyeshadow into the container's lid and draw the eyeshadow brush around in the powder until it's lightly coated. Give the brush a tap to ensure that there's not too much eyeshadow on it, and any excess falls away.
3. Then simply apply the makeup to your eyelid, as you would with the standard variety.
For the evening look:
1. You should apply the makeup slightly wet, so begin by dampening the brush in a small amount of water. Run the brush across your hand to ensure there isn't too much water on one part of the it and the water is evenly distributed.
2. As with the daytime look, shake some powder into the container's lid and place the eyeshadow brush into the makeup. Move the brush around a little to ensure it picks up the eyeshadow.
3. Then simply apply it to the eyelids.
